BROCK  The Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival has been cancelled due to growing fears surrounding the COVID-19 virus.Event organizers announced on March 12 that the milestone event  2020 would have been stanley mugs  its 25th year  has been shuttered, citing public health and safety concerns.The festival was scheduled to be held April 4 and 5.               ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW                 stanley cup                         Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the committee for the Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival has decided to cancel this years event,  said a posting on the festival website.  By now, countless hours of work have gone into organizing the event, but in the  stanley thermos interest of public health and safety, the committee feels this is the right decision at the right time.       The maple syrup festival draws thousands of visitors from across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond each year.        ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW                                 The idea behind cancelling is to minimize risk for families and visitors of all ages,  said the notice.For more information, visit maplesyrupfestival.ca/sunderland.
