Former President Obama called Sen. Jeff Flake after the shooting at the Republicans  practice for Thursday s congressional baseball game, a spokesman for Obama confirmed Wednesday. Flake was among the lawmakers at the practice when the the gunman, identified as James T. Hodgkinson, opened fire, wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana; two Capitol Police officer stanley cups s; Matt Mika, a Tyson Foods lobbyist; and Zachary Barth, a staffer for Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas. Flake said he ran over to Scalise after the shooting and put pressure on his wound until emergency responders arrived.                                        Speaking to CBS News after the shooting, Flake confirmed that he received a call from Obama in the morning.
