Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and U.S. Representative Dan Maffei today  Aug. 8  announced that the town of Volney has been awarded $532,000 in grant funding and a $1,428,000 loan through the Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Develop stanley cup quencher ment. The town will use the funds for infrastructure projects to build new water mains bringing clean water to residents in the community. With this funding and low-interest loan, the town of Volney in Oswego County will now be able to make crucial improvements to its water district without passing the entire financial bu stanley cups rden onto local taxpayers,  said Senator Schumer.  This water main expansion project will provide the town with wise infrastructure investments that will enhance public health, access to clean drinking water and economic development.  This is a much needed investment for Central New York,  Senator Gillibrand said.  Upgrading water infrastructure is an effective way to support local businesses and attract new jobs to Oswego County.
